This project was aimed at making it easier to configure mail setting for road-warriors. Often, the SMTP server must be set manually depending on the network service provider the user is currently accessing. At the start of the project most of the users we spoke to had WiFi, Dial-up and GPRS connections, each needing a different SMTP setting.
Ken did a fantastic job of writing a piece of software that woudl go through various automatic steps to try and figure out what the SMTP settings might be. He also added rules to outgoing mail to stop you, say, trying to email a 10Mb file on a dial-up connection.
