Overview
Welcome to the Website for our project! MXit Web Applications is a computer science project which investigated the use of software for the development of mobile education. It was undertaken by two Honours students studying in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cape Town.
This project aimed to use MXit, an instant messaging service, to host applications which facilitate mobile learning. A Web tool was created for teachers to create these applications.
To facilitate the running of this service it was necessary to create an underlying system architecture which consisted of two main parts: a database to store application content; and an application manager which hosts applications on MXit by interfacing with the content database and the MXit service.
