Overview
Two types of experiments were run during the course of this project. Each tested different tasks that operators of a rescue robot would be expected to carry out.
Each experiment took place in one of several maps which were designed on a per task basis.
The first task asked users to locate pool balls, representing victims, hidden around a map. This tested the ability of users to locate victims and avoid collisions.
The second task required users to navigate to waypoints specified on a GPS unit on the HUD as quickly as possible. This tested the ability of users to navigate quickly and efficiently.
